CATEGORY MANAGER BENELUX
Location: Amsterdam
salary: €64K - €65K Your new company Hays Sales&Marketing Amsterdam is recruiting a ‘high potential’ Category Manager Benelux for its client Dyson. They are well-known for designing and manufacturing vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, heaters etc.

Your new role
The Category Manager will be accountable for the category within their market. Working with the Benelux Head of Marketing, they will drive strategies that deliver high category performance in terms of both profitability and brand reputation, short and long term growth. You will be the in-market category advocate, continuously championing its value and commercial potential for the market and the wider Dyson business; developing the ambition, energy, ideas and tools needed by the market’s marketing and sales teams to reach the best possible commercial outcomes from the product set.

Together with the Sales department you will analyze in-life products, campaign performance and implications for growth strategies. Moreover you will develop a deep understanding of the territory’s customer opportunity.

Also you will translate the Group commercial product/category strategy into local strategy; clarifying the approach to maximize own market’s opportunity within the context of global plans. This means that you will deliver commercial launch plans, working in conjunction with Group Commercial teams and the global approach. You will ensure new products are launched successfully through effective leadership across the local market and manage teams to milestones and plan.

Alongside the Benelux Head of Marketing, you will operate as a member of the virtual global Dyson category and commercial teams. You will collaborate with the relevant Group Category teams and other key functions (e.g., Digital & Owner Experience, Retail and Events) and will provide feedback and insights to the Group category teams; participate in building Dyson’s understanding of commercial category opportunity.

what you’ll need to succeed
You have around 5 years of experience in a similar commercial driven role. Important is your experience of bringing new products/categories to the market. Also you have experience with product management and digital/traditional media channels. Moreover you have strong influencing skills and excellent analytical skills (ROI, sell-in,…). Personality wise you are driven by desire to win, you are confident and are able to take smart risks. You are very strong in speaking English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered a big advantage. Finally we value a first experience with people management as you will manage 1 person in the team.

We expect you to work from both offices but you can choose your main office. A company car will not be provided in this role, however Dyson offers an attractive salary package and international growth opportunities.
