Your new role
The Innovation Design Engineer role works in the Innovation Advanced PA Concepts Group of the R&D department that enables Ampleon to develop highly advanced products to reach the RF performance requirements of leading customers. The Innovation Design Engineer works on innovative solutions to meet next (future) requirements for wireless infrastructure, broadcast and emerging markets systems using Ampleon’s leading edge LDMOS technology and GaN technology. The Senior Innovation Design Engineer works in a team of engineers covering different innovative projects. The main tasks in this role will be:

Your new role
The Innovation Design Engineer role works in the Innovation Advanced PA Concepts Group of the R&D department that enables Ampleon to develop highly advanced products to reach the RF performance requirements of leading customers. The Innovation Design Engineer works on innovative solutions to meet next (future) requirements for wireless infrastructure, broadcast and emerging markets systems using Ampleon’s leading edge LDMOS technology and GaN technology. The Senior Innovation Design Engineer works in a team of engineers covering different innovative projects. The main tasks in this role will be:
- Development of behavioral models of power amplifiers and transmitter systems to be used in current and future standards like 4.5G and 5G.
- Design, simulation and demonstration of new power amplifier concepts to enhance the performance of base station power amplifiers on efficiency, linearity and band-width for future standards like 4.5G and 5G.
- Carry out industrial research, enlarging relevant knowledge and bringing in new knowledge.
- Pro-actively make knowledge available for operational use within Ampleon, such as to contribute to successful transfers of innovation results to the customer.
- Keep abreast of technical developments in the relevant technology and industrial areas through study of literature and technical contacts.
What you'll need to succeed
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in RF & Microwave design (mandatory)
- In depth knowledge and working experience in DPD algorithms applied to RF power amplifiers (mandatory)
- Digital signal processing and model development using Matlab (mandatory)
- Experienced user in Labview (mandatory)
- Digital and analog RF hardware development using ADS/MWO and Xilinx/Altera (VHDL/Verilog)
- High efficiency classes of operation (e.g. class AB, E, F)
- At least 3 years of RF design experience.
- General knowledge on transceiver system design and functional blocks
- Power amplifier design, PCB layouting, prototyping, troubleshooting.
- RF equipment and measurement techniques.
