Role: The product engineer (PE) contributes to the validation, qualification and characterization of new products in the business creation process. The PE also is actively involved from project start up onwards, ensure quality mindset & execute PE activities after the product development phase. The product engineer is responsible for writing and execution of the Characterization and Industrialization Plan for a business creation project in which all PE-activities and requirements from S- to R-gate are reflected. With the Industrial Producibility Reports at different stages of the project, the PE provides the evidence to the stakeholders that the product is suitable for mass production. He will act as liaison between the product line, the wafer fabs, the SLA-teams in the Far East and the test and assembly centers. A product engineer is continuously looking for ways to improve the output and quality of his work and setting standards for the WoW within the PE group in order to deliver the enablers for other disciplines in- and outside the business line in an optimal way.
Profiel:
Experiences/skills: • Master or Bachelor degree in electronics • Relevant experience (> 5 years) with PE activities preferably in Automotive • Knowledge of IC process technology (Mixed signal & digital). Able to support Failure Analysis in digital processes (Fault Allocation in digital designs) • Knowledge and experience in digital (test-) architectures (JTAG, I2C, SCAN, TCB, TAP) • Experience in data analysis tools (Datapower is pre) • Extended knowledge and experience in statistical tools and methods. • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt certified) • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing • Experience in working in global, cross functional teams • Team worker with good communication skills in English • Able to plan his own activities in the scope of a larger project and delivers on commitment • Entrepreneurial attitude and an enthusiastic team player. • Occasional traveling should be no problem • Maintain business relationships with experts from their own and related disciplines inside and outside of NXP.
