Context of the position
For ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all the clients internal and external activities. A sub-department within the IT organization is IT CCP ST (Competence Center Product Solution Team); this department is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling for the clients development organization. Within IT CCP ST three development disciplines are represented: mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The senior SCM expert will be active in the software engineering group.

Job Mission
Maintain and modify the implementation of the software development environment, in co-operation with the internal customer and SCM system architect.
Job description:
- Take ownership of (parts of) the software development environment as provided to the internal customer. The software development environment is used by appr. 1000 developers.
- Participate as technical expert in running projects within the IT CCP ST software group.
- Define improvement proposals that focus on system performance and process efficiency for end-users.
- Give support in solving difficult 3rd line incidents.
- Strong partner in discussions with SCM system architect and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments.
- Keep abreast with relevant literature, means and methods.
Experience
- Relevant experience and proven experience in large technical complicated development environments
- Thorough understanding and practical experience with:
- Development environments
- Multiple Configuration and build management implementations.
- Unix/Linux Hardware infrastructure.
- Knowledge of version control tooling like SVN, GIT
Personal Skills
- Excellent communication skills are a must
- Able to handle stress due to issues from demanding customers that potentially disturb the work.
- Show initiative and problem solving attitude.
- Pragmatic, practical, flexible and committed to quality.
- Proficiency in the English language
