General tasks to be performed: • MIC/MMIC prototype circuit layout design and integration using dedicated equipment such as wire and ribbon bonding machines, eutectic die bonding and testing using on wafer probing station. • Assist with the integration, configuration and running of test equipment and/or test set-ups employed in evaluating the performance of RF subsystems or instruments for space application such as: • PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. • Navigation payloads and associated equipment. • Remote sensing space born radar Calibration transponders. • TT&C and Communication test beds. • Life limited RF payload equipment. • Atomic Clocks and Time and Frequency Test beds. • Non-linear characterisation of subsystems/devices. • General laboratory support such as, scheduled maintenance, replacement of consumables, and design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits. Development of control software (using VEE) for automated testing. • Development of software tools for control and monitoring of performance parameters of RF test beds • Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes documentation operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. • Good working knowledge of Thermal Vacuum chambers/systems is required. • Operation, maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment and test facilities: • Maintain up to date divisional (TEC-ET) equipment inventory list, which involves use/operation of dedicated software for traceability and control of inventory including lent out equipment. Specific tasks to be performed: • Coordinate Calibration and Maintenance of all RF equipment in the Lab. • Coordinate transport of all incoming and outgoing equipment in the Lab. • Management and recording of all new assets and annual inventory of lab assets. • Monitoring and control of lent out equipment to industry. • Support Galileo test Systems integration in the lab. • Coordinate annual preventive maintenance of the entire lab including the clean room. • Operation of GNSS Payload using its associated EGSE and performing End-to-End Characterisation tests over temperature and/or under vacuum.
Profiel:
To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background / experience is required: • A strong background in RF, microwave and millimetre wave technologies and be experienced in testing integration and assembly of MIC/MMIC circuits and flight hardware. • The candidate shall be familiar with the utilization of general RF equipment such as network analysers, spectrum analysers, power meters etc. • Good working knowledge of GNSS Payloads and operation of its associated EGSE. • The candidate should also have organisational skills to carry out the inventory and library tasks. • Experience in maintenance and calibration of general RF laboratory test equipment and instrumentation is highly desirable. • It is desirable that the candidate should have good experience with various industrystandard CAD tools, and generic software tools for payload systems monitoring and control. • Knowledge of characterising passive and active RF hardware in scattering parameters and over time domain (TRL). • The candidate shall be dependable, reliable and be proactive in decision making and task execution. • Good knowledge of 1553 Bus Interface communication protocol andits operation as well as SCOS 2000 and LAB VIEW software.
